Three Maps Return to DBD in Patch 10.0.1: Badham Preschool, Grim Pantry, and Pale Rose Are Back

Behaviour re-enabled Badham Preschool, Grim Pantry, and Pale Rose in the 10.0.1 bugfix patch that dropped June 23, 2026. All three are smaller, indoor-favouring maps that should give Killers with indoor chase kits (Huntress, Billy, Spirit, Nurse) more queue diversity, while giving Survivors a reason to revisit Aura-Reading and Chase builds. Here is the verified change set, the related meta shifts from the same patch, and which existing perk combos benefit most.

TL;DR: Patch 10.0.1 went live on June 23, 2026 and quietly re-enabled three maps in the standard map pool: Badham Preschool, Grim Pantry, and Pale Rose. The same patch also added Shane Wiigwaas (the new Survivor), buffed The Slasher's Coroner's Coffee addon, changed Lend a Hand so it can trigger more than once, and added a "not being chased by the Killer" condition to Cross-Examination. Below: what the maps changed, which Killer and Survivor perk builds to dust off, and the broader 10.0.1 meta shifts worth knowing about.

The three re-enabled maps, verified

The Behaviour Interactive 10.0.1 patch notes contain a single line under Environment/Maps: "Badham Preschool, Grim Pantry and Pale Rose Maps have been re-enabled." This is the biggest map-rotation change since the Hawkins Lab re-enable in patch 9.4.0. Here is what each map is, where it lives in the game, and what was actually fixed in this patch.

  • Badham Preschool is a 144-sqT map in the Springwood realm, originally introduced with the Nightmare on Elm Street chapter (The Nightmare / Freddy Krueger). The building is a mid-sized two-story preschool with a basement boiler room. The 10.0.1 environment fixes include: Killers no longer getting stuck between hedges, and The Lich (Vecna) Hand of Vecna ability now correctly teleporting Survivors out of Badham Preschool lockers. The map has 5 variants (I-V), but only Badham Preschool I is in the standard ranked pool per the patch 8.6.0 changes.
  • Grim Pantry is a 168-sqT map in the Backwater Swamp realm, paired with The Pale Rose. Originally introduced with the Of Flesh and Mud chapter (The Hag / Lisa Sherwood). The 10.0.1 fix: missing projectile collision around the cabin walls is now restored, which is a meaningful buff for ranged Killers like Huntress, Deathslinger, and Singularity.
  • Pale Rose is a 161-sqT map in the same Backwater Swamp realm, also from the Of Flesh and Mud chapter. The Pale Rose is built around a two-story paddle steamer in the swamp with three staircases. Patch 10.0.1 ships the standard environment fixes; this is the same map that contains the famous "crow bomb" audio cue when the upper-deck Generator is kicked.

All three are mid-sized indoor maps, which means the meta shift is favorable for Killers with indoor chase kits and unfavorable for outdoor powerhouse maps like Coldwind Farm or MacMillan Estate.

Which existing perk combos benefit most

The re-enabled maps do not require new builds - the build guides already on this site apply directly. Here is what to bring back into rotation.

For Killers

  • Anti-Pallet Chaser (Spirit Fury + Enduring + Bamboozle + Save the Best for Last) - Badham and Grim Pantry both have multiple pallet-and-window loops. Spirit Fury is one of the cleanest answers to those loops on smaller maps.
  • Huntress Map Control (Iron Maiden + Discordance + Tinkerer + Pop Goes the Weasel) - The Grim Pantry cabin walls now have proper projectile collision, so hatchet arcs that previously clipped through walls will land. This is a quiet buff to this build.
  • The Meta Squeeze (Corrupt Intervention + Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance + Grim Embrace + Bamboozle) - The slowdown trio is one of the strongest setups on smaller maps where generators are tight together. All three maps qualify.

For Survivors

  • Aura-Reading Awareness (Kindred + Eyes of Belmont + Open-Handed + Empathy) - Smaller maps with split indoor-outdoor layouts are where aura reading is most valuable. Badham Preschool in particular has historically been a hard map to track the Killer on because of the indoor-outdoor split, and Kindred is the cleanest answer to that.
  • Chase-Stun Payback (Blast Mine + Exultation + Any Means Necessary + Head On) - The pantry and cabin in Grim Pantry both have multiple lockers on the upper floors. Head On value goes up directly when lockers are more accessible.

The other 10.0.1 meta shifts worth knowing

The patch dropped with several other changes that interact with existing builds. None are balance-rewriting, but they shift a few specific perk rankings.

Shane Wiigwaas released on June 25, 2026

Three new Survivor perks are live. Our existing Shane guide covers all of them, but the 10.0.1 live values differ from what the PTB had:

  • Wide Open Throttle - Confirmed live values: 10/12.5/15% Haste for 3s on fast-vault, pallet reset + blocked for 60s, cooldown 60s. 10.0.1 also fixed a bug where the perk could trigger off Dissolution (the perk now correctly enters cooldown only on actual pallet vaults).
  • Lend a Hand - The PTB version was "once per trial and per Survivor". 10.0.1 "Changes from Release" section changed it to "multiple times (still only once per other Survivor) as long as you fulfill the condition again". This is a buff to totem-healer builds.
  • Cross-Examination - Nerfed in 10.0.1. The PTB version had no chase restriction. The live version adds "and not being chased by the Killer" to the perk conditions. If you specced around the PTB version expecting a free Elusive during chases, the perk no longer delivers that - it is now an anti-detection tool outside of chase, not during.

Slasher Coroner's Coffee addon buffed

The Slasher's uncommon addon Coroner's Coffee was buffed in 10.0.1: the post-Spike haste went from 8% to 13% (still 3 seconds, still requires the Survivor to not collide with the environment), and the Spike push distance went up by 25%. This is a meaningful buff to The Slasher build.

Perk bug fixes you might have noticed

Several quality-of-life perk fixes also landed in 10.0.1: Self-Care and Strength in Shadows were reworded to "you can self-heal, but XX% slower" matching the new description standard; For the People can now be used a second time; Hex: Face the Darkness no longer sends a scream notification to the last remaining Survivor; Buckle Up works correctly with Conviction. None of these are meta-shifting on their own, but they tighten up some builds that felt inconsistent.

Final verdict

Three maps coming back is not flashy news, but it is the kind of meta shift that touches every queue for the next month. If you mained Killer and learned the full map pool over the last year, expect one in every three or four matches to be on a re-enabled map for the first two weeks. Pick one of the builds above, queue into the new map pool, and you will be at full speed inside three matches.
