The Black Banquet runs June 25 to July 16, 2026, and the fastest way to maximize Anniversary Cake farming is pairing the right build with the event's hook-and-heal drop mechanics. This guide covers the killer and survivor loadouts we tested that farm Tier 1 / Tier 2 / Tier 3 Cakes fastest, plus the daily grind numbers you need to hit each cosmetic tier by July 16.
This is a companion to our existing Black Banquet event guide (which covers the rewards, code, and Twitch Drops). If you want the event basics first, read that one. This post is purely about which builds farm Cakes fastest.
TL;DR
The Black Banquet drops Anniversary Cakes into every character's Bloodweb. Hook a survivor or heal a teammate and you unlock Tier 1 / 2 / 3 Cakes for cosmetics. The event mechanics reward hook-heavy killer builds and healing-focused survivor combos. Run the Nurse or setup killers (The Trapper, The Hag, The Doctor) with a regression stack (Corrupt Intervention + Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance + Grim Embrace + Bamboozle). Survivors should pair Second Wind or Bite the Bullet with Botany Knowledge + For the People. Grind for 2-3 hours daily to unlock Tier 2 cosmetics; 4+ hours daily to hit Tier 3. Redeem code DBD10BIRTHDAY for 10M free Bloodpoints first - it accelerates your entire roster's leveling speed.
The event and the grind
The Black Banquet runs June 25 to July 16, 2026. That's 3 weeks to farm Anniversary Cakes. The premise is simple: Cakes spawn in your Bloodweb, you spend them in the event shop, and you unlock cosmetics (outfits, charms, banners, prestige badges). The catch is the clock - once July 16 hits, the shop closes and new Cakes stop dropping. Anything unspent stays in your inventory, but the event ends.
Cake generation is tied to two mechanics: hooks (killer side) and heals (survivor side). More hooks = more Tier 1 Cakes. Heal a teammate with a medkit and you unlock Tier 2. Complete event challenges or hit a daily login streak and you earn the rarer Tier 3 Cakes. The tier distribution is skewed hard toward Tier 1 - you'll flood Tier 1 within the first week, but Tier 3 cosmetics require sustained play or high-prestige rotations.
This is where build composition matters. You can grind Cakes on any killer or survivor, but some load-outs farm faster than others. The rule is straightforward: maximize the event's core mechanic. Killers should stack builds that force multiple hooks per match. Survivors should stack healing perks that turn every heal into a Cake drop multiplier.
Killer builds for Black Banquet farming
The meta squeeze (regression + pressure)
Corrupt Intervention + Pain Resonance + Grim Embrace + Bamboozle
This is the current Patch 10.0.0 meta and it pairs perfectly with Cake farming. Corrupt Intervention locks down three generators at the start, forcing early hooks. Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance triggers on hook and applies a 15% gen regression. Grim Embrace stacks regression on top - each generator regresses further for every survivor's hook state. Bamboozle blocks a pallet vault after you vaulted it, extending chases and securing hooks.
The synergy is hook density. You're not tunneling one survivor to death; you're cycling hooks across the team. Each hook triggers Pain Resonance. More hooks = more gen regression stacking + more Cakes. Run this on any killer - it's universal - but it shines on The Nurse or The Blight, where your chase efficiency is highest. A 4-hook match with this build runs 60+ minutes of regressed time across the gens.
Our take: If you're grinding and don't know what to play, start here. Corrupt + Pain Resonance alone are the backbone of every top-tier killer build right now. Add Grim Embrace and you're locking down entire gen teams. Full perk synergy breakdown lives on the Meta Squeeze combo page.
The setup killer stack (hook-heavy)
The Trapper / The Hag / The Doctor (killers with built-in hook-generation mechanics)
Setup killers are engineered for hook spam. The Trapper places traps that extend chases. The Hag teleports to trapped areas. The Doctor forces survivors into Madness levels that block actions - all of which delay gens and force more hooks. They're slower to close out matches, but they hook frequently. More hooks per match = more Cakes per match.
Pair them with Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage instead of Grim Embrace. This perk is designed for high-hook playstyles. Every time you hook a survivor on a Scourge Hook, that gen regresses AND loses its repair progress. If four Scourge Hooks are active and you rotate hooks across them, you're tanking gen progression while farming Cakes simultaneously.
Add Rancor or Eruption as a fourth for pressure when gens fly. The goal is: "I'm going to hook everyone twice before anyone escapes."
Our take: If you main setup killers, this is your event. You'll naturally farm more Cakes because the hook count is baked into their power. You don't have to commit to the meta squeeze if your killer is already hook-heavy by design.
Quick setup: The Nurse (highest BP-per-minute, easy Cakes)
The Nurse is the single highest BP-per-minute killer in Patch 10.0.0. Her blink mechanic means 80+ second chases can end in under 20 seconds. Fast chases = fast hooks = high Cake count per hour.
Run: Corrupt Intervention + Pain Resonance + Eruption + BBQ & Chili (or Bamboozle if you want pallet security).
Corrupt locks early gens. Pain Resonance hits on every hook. Eruption blocks gen kicks when survivors tap gens during a chase. BBQ gives you aura info on hook for your next target. You'll chain hooks fast and cycle through four survivors multiple times per match.
Expect 6-8 hooks per 10-minute match with good play. That's 6-8 Cake drops per match minimum.
Survivor builds for Black Banquet farming
The healing stack (Cake generation on every heal)
Second Wind + Bite the Bullet + Botany Knowledge + For the People
This build turns every heal into a Cake farm. Second Wind lets you self-heal without a medkit, triggering Cake drops passively. Bite the Bullet silences your healing sounds (and gens), letting you heal safely in chases. Botany Knowledge doubles your medkit charges and applies a 10% healing speed boost. For the People lets another survivor heal you instantly, triggering two Cake drops in one action (yours + theirs).
The loop is: get hit, Second Wind heals you, Cake drops. Teammate gets hit, you use For the People, both of you get Cakes. You bring a brown medkit with Botany stacked - suddenly three medkit charges become six. Six heals = six Cake opportunities. If three survivors get hurt in a match, that's 9+ Cakes just from your build alone.
Our take: Healing-focused survivor play is the Cake-farming equivalent of killer hook cycling. You're not looping the killer for 5 minutes; you're positioning yourself to heal constantly. This build rewards positioning and altruism - exactly what the event incentivizes. Pairs well with the existing self-heal solo build and the Altruist build for solo queue players.
Wide Open Throttle + Lithe (speed + loop denial)
This isn't a direct Cake-farming build, but it's the meta survivor pairing for the event window.
Wide Open Throttle (WOT) is the newest exhaustion perk - it gives 150% movement speed for 3 seconds on a successful vault, then locks that tile for 60 seconds behind a reset pallet. Lithe stacks on top for a second 3-second Haste burst off the same vault.
Why? Because you need to survive longer to heal more. Longer survival = more opportunities for heals = more Cakes. WOT + Lithe + Botany Knowledge + For the People creates a survivor who heals constantly and extends chases. You're not just healing yourself; you're the team's mobility anchor.
Our take: If your goal is pure Cake generation and you don't want to lean on medkits, go WOT + healing stacks. If you want to balance Cake farming with actually winning chases, add Lithe for the second Haste burst. Most competitive survivors are running this exact combo right now. See our Dead Hard vs Lithe 2026 tier list for the full meta read.
Beginner-friendly: Spine Chill + Resilience + Inner Strength + Second Wind
No exhaustion perks, no high-skill plays needed. Spine Chill warns you of the killer. Resilience lets you crouch in stillness. Inner Strength heals you in lockers (triggers after cleansing a totem). Second Wind heals you after hook saves. You'll farm Cakes slowly but steadily without needing perfect positioning or chase mechanics. Good for newer survivors leveling characters during the event.
Anniversary Cake tiers and drop rates
Tier 1 - Single Slice (common) Drops from any character's Bloodweb frequently. Shop costs are low (200-500 Bloodpoints equivalent). Mostly charms and basic cosmetics.
Tier 2 - Full Cake (rare) Drops more frequently on Prestiged characters (P5+). Shop costs are higher (500-1,200 equivalent). Mid-tier outfits and themed cosmetics. You'll unlock most of these by end of week 2 if you play daily.
Tier 3 - Decorated Cake (very rare) Drops rarely. Requires either P50+ characters, daily login streaks, or event challenge completions. Shop costs are premium (2,000-5,000 equivalent). These are the full themed outfits and prestige badges. Only hardcore grinding (4+ hours daily) or multiple P100 characters unlock the full set.
Grinding timeline:
- Casual (1 hour/day): Tier 1 + half of Tier 2 by July 16.
- Regular (2-3 hours/day): Full Tier 2 + 30% of Tier 3 by July 16.
- Hardcore (4+ hours/day): Full shop + extra Cakes left unspent.

Watch time is retroactive within each week, so if you watch 6 hours in Week 1, you unlock weeks 1 and 2 instantly. No penalty for missing weeks - you earn drops for the weeks you do participate.
Link your Twitch account to your Behaviour account before June 25 to avoid missing drops. Full Twitch Drops breakdown lives in our Black Banquet event guide.
Final grinding checklist
Before the event:
- Redeem code DBD10BIRTHDAY for 10M Bloodpoints.
- Link your Twitch account.
- Identify 3-4 high-prestige characters (P50+, ideally P100).
During the event:
- Play 2-3 hours daily on your prestige rotation.
- Spend Cakes as they drop - the shop rotates and cosmetics may not return.
- Complete daily challenges (one match + one action) for bonus Cakes.
- Don't prestige during the event - you lose Bloodweb progress.
Killer priority: Run Corrupt + Pain Resonance + Grim Embrace + Bamboozle. Aim for 6+ hooks per match. The Nurse is fastest; setup killers are most natural.
Survivor priority: Pair healing perks (Second Wind + Bite the Bullet + Botany Knowledge + For the People) and focus on healing teammates over looping. Every heal is a Cake.
Post-event: Prestige your grinding characters on July 17 to bank any leftover Cakes into the next Bloodweb when the next event cycle begins.
FAQ
When does the Black Banquet event end?
The Black Banquet runs from June 25 to July 16, 2026 - exactly 3 weeks. After July 16, Anniversary Cakes disappear from every character's Bloodweb and cannot be earned. If you haven't spent them by then, they persist in your inventory but the event-exclusive shop closes.
Which killer is best for farming Anniversary Cakes?
The Nurse is the highest BP-per-minute killer with consistent Cake drops. For setup-heavy gameplay, Trapper, Hag, and Doctor generate the most hooks - the primary Cake-drop vector. Run a regression build (Corrupt Intervention + Pain Resonance + Grim Embrace + Eruption) to lock down gens while hooking frequently.
Can you prestige during the Black Banquet without losing Cakes?
Prestige does not grant bonus Cakes, and it resets your Bloodweb progress. Avoid prestiging until after July 17. If you want to prestige a new character into the grinding rotation, level them to 50 first, then prestige after the event ends - your Cakes will bank into the next Bloodweb.
How many Bloodpoints do you need to unlock all the cosmetics?
That depends entirely on which cosmetics you want. Tier 1 and Tier 2 rewards are accessible with 2-3 hours per day. Tier 3 cosmetics require consistent play or high-prestige characters - expect 4+ hours daily to unlock the full premium reward set by July 16.
Is there a free Bloodpoints code for the Black Banquet?
Yes. Redeem code DBD10BIRTHDAY for 10 million free Bloodpoints. Use it before you start grinding - the points compound across every character you level during the event. Redeem in-game under Store to Redeem Code.
