Scary Movie - the Wayans brothers 2000 parody franchise - is one of the most-requested Dead by Daylight crossovers that doesn't exist yet. The community has been pushing for Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks as survivors since at least 2023, with fan concepts on r/deadbydaylight, the BHVR forums, and TikTok amassing tens of thousands of engagements. We walk through what a Scary Movie chapter would actually need to work, what Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks's perks could look like, and why BHVR might (or might not) ever ship it.
Why the community wants this chapter
Dead by Daylight has built a strong roster of parody-adjacent licensed killers - The Ghost Face (Scream), Chucky (Childs Play), and the recently released The Slasher ( The Slasher ) - but the most-requested parody franchise is still the one that hasn't arrived: Scary Movie. The 5-film franchise, which ran from 2000 to 2013, is iconic for horror fans who grew up with the Wayans brothers send-up of the genre.
The community specifically wants:
- Cindy Campbell ( The Huntress Faris) - the parody final girl who somehow survives every movie despite being terrible at running, terrible at hiding, and terrible at recognising obvious killer behaviour Brenda Meeks (Regina Hall) - Cindy Campbell's best friend, the skeptical one who gets into iconic slap-fights (the I'm whoopin her ass, Cindy Campbell theatre brawl in Scary Movie 2 is one of the most quoted lines in the franchise) A new Killer that fits the parody tone - which is the hardest part
The killer problem: whos the Scary Movie killer?
This is the part of the concept that breaks down. The Scary Movie franchise doesn't have a single iconic masked villain. The killer changes with each film:
- Scary Movie 1+2 - The Killer / Doofy / HIM - a parody of Michael Myers Scary Movie 3 - The Tabitha-style parody of aliens, plus the masked Tabloid Reporter Scary Movie 4 - The parody of The Grudge + The Ring Scary Movie 5 - Various parody villains
So a Scary Movie chapter can't just add the Scary Movie Killer the way The Slasher or Chucky slots in - there's no single character. The community's most popular proposal (per the BHVR forum thread ) is to use HIM - the masked parody-killer from the first two films - and frame the chapter around his role as a Final Boy parody.
If BHVR went with HIM as the Killer, his power could be a parody of Michael Myers Stalk mode: a slow walking speed with no Terror Radius when not in chase, but a sudden sprint attack when Survivors break line of sight. The joke being that Stalk mode in horror is supposed to be terrifying, but Scary Movies version is just a guy in a bedsheet with a knife.
Cindy Campbell's perk ideas (community-vetted)
Cindy Campbell's perk concepts on r/deadbydaylight lean into her role as the unluckiest survivor ever. The best three (combined from a popular Reddit thread ):
- Out of Sight - After escaping a chase and the Killers Terror Radius, gain a token. Each token doubles your healing or repair speed for 8 seconds. Stack up to 3 tokens. The joke: Cindy Campbell survives everything but the moment she thinks she's safe is when she gets hit. Final Girl - When the Exit Gates are powered, you gain a permanent 5% Haste Status Effect. If you are the last Survivor alive, the Haste increases to 15%. The joke: Cindy Campbell always survives in the last act. Bad at Running - Every 45 seconds, your sprint triggers a stumble animation. If the Killer is within 12m when you stumble, they cannot attack for 1.5 seconds. The joke: Cindy Campbell's running is so bad the Killer has to stop to watch.
All three perks reward the you think this is a debuff but its secretly a buff humour that defines the Scary Movie franchise.
Brenda Meeks perk ideas (community-vetted)
Brenda Meeks is the comic relief fighter - her signature moment is the theatre brawl. The most-cited Brenda Meeks perk concept (from a separate Reddit thread ):
- Candid Camera - Each time you witness another Survivor get hit, gain a token up to 2/3/4 tokens. Each token makes you perform actions 2/3/4% faster. The joke: Brenda Meeks's reaction to seeing violence is well, since I'm here, might as well do chores. Theatre Brawl - When you stun the Killer with a Pallet, you and any Survivors within 6m of you gain a 5/6/7% Haste Status Effect for 4 seconds. The joke: Brenda Meeks's fights always end with everyone around her fleeing. Skeptic - When a Killer uses a power within 24m of you, that power is disabled for 5/6/7 seconds. The joke: Brenda Meeks's first reaction to the supernatural is this is fake.
How a Scary Movie chapter would fit DBDs current meta
The Slasher (The Slasher) launched on 2026-06-16 with patch 10.0.0 - you can see the full PTB-to-Live changes here . The next chapter after The Slasher hasn't been officially announced, but the community is hoping the parody tone will be the through-line. DBDs design team has shown they're willing to go silly (Chuckys Slice & Dice attack animation is a direct reference to Childs Plays goofier horror), so Scary Movie would actually fit the current direction.
A Scary Movie chapter would likely include:
- 1 new Killer (HIM or another parody character) 2 new Survivors (Cindy Campbell + Brenda Meeks) 6 new perks (3 Killer + 3 Survivor) A new map (the iconic theatre from Scary Movie 2, or a suburban house parody of Halloween) 1 new Survivor outfit line (comedy-themed skins for the existing roster)
What existing DBD builds would pair well with Scary Movie perks
If Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks's perks land the way the community expects, they'll be most useful in:
- The Aura & Info Tracker combo - if HIM's parody Stalk mode has reduced Terror Radius, aura-reading perks become mandatory for tracking. Cindy Campbell's Out of Sight speed boost pairs well with this playstyle. The Gen-Rush / Aura-Reading Survivor build - the moment Cindy Campbell uses Final Girl is endgame, but a coordinated Aura-Reading team can reach the exit gates faster to set up the speed boost.
If HIM lands as the Killer, The Ghost Face Stealth build becomes a strong reference point for the meta - both killers reward stalk without terror radius play.
The arguments against BHVR ever making this chapter
Three reasons this chapter might never happen:
- Brand safety - The Scary Movie franchise is a parody of other horror films. The 5 films contain explicit humour about real horror tropes including sexual violence, mental illness, and racism. BHVRs licensing team may not want the brand association, especially for a game that already has a Mature rating. Comedy in horror is hard - DBDs humour has historically been subtle (Chuckys attack animations, the Achievement names). A full parody chapter would require a tonal shift that some players might reject. The Ghost Face already occupies the slot - The parody horror The Slasher niche is already covered by The Ghost Face (a Scream chapter). Adding Scary Movie might feel redundant to BHVRs content team.
My honest take
I'd bet against this chapter happening. The licensing cost would be high, the brand-safety concerns are real, and The Ghost Face already does the parody-The Slasher job. But I'd love to be wrong - a Cindy Campbell Bad at Running perk that actually makes the game funnier is exactly the kind of chaos the community wants.
If you're a fan, the official Dead by Daylight Twitter and the BHVR forum are where any official announcement would land first. The community Reddit r/deadbydaylight is the most active discussion space for concept posts.
Until BHVR says otherwise, this is fan territory. The perks above are speculation, not leaks. If you want to support the concept, the original Reddit thread is where the community is pushing the idea hardest.
