The glow of the Flashlight looks a little different, feels a little warmer.
Shining a Flashlight applies the following effect:
- Grants a +50 % Haste Status Effect.
Blinding the Killer by any means applies the following effect:
- Causes them to suffer from a -20 % Hindered Status Effect for 6 seconds.
- This effect does not stack.
Champion of Light has a cool-down of 80/70/60 seconds after blinding the Killer.

Our take
Shining the Flashlight grants a +50% Haste Status Effect, and blinding the Killer by any means leaves them Hindered at -20% for 6 seconds. Hindered does not stack, and the 80/70/60 second cool-down only starts once you actually blind someone.
How to use it Take it when you are willing to commit to a blind instead of just a flash of light. Leave it if you cannot absorb the 80/70/60 second wait that follows.
Best for Lithe, Adrenaline and Sprint Burst fill the same haste slot. Champion of Light is the right pick for a survivor who treats the Flashlight as an offensive tool rather than a panic button.
