After unlocking a Chest and either blessing or cleansing a Totem, Hardened activates:
- Suppresses the urge to scream from any cause and instead causes the Aura of the Killer to be revealed to you for 3/4/5 seconds.

Our take
Unlock a Chest, then bless or cleanse a Totem, and Hardened takes over: the urge to scream is suppressed from any cause, and the Killer's Aura is revealed to you for 3/4/5 seconds instead. It is a one-time unlock with a two-step requirement, and the scream it replaces would have happened anyway.
How to use it Take it if a Chest and a Totem can both be fitted in early without costing you the match. The unlock does not happen at all if the Totem is left alone.
Best for It overlaps with Inner Strength and Counterforce, which is exactly why a scream suppression is worth a slot here. The right pick is a survivor who expects to be surprised by something, since the Aura is revealed whatever the cause.
