Smash Hit
Description
When your rival makes a mistake, you seize the opportunity. Stunning the Killer with a Pallet triggers Smash Hit: - Grants a +50% Haste Status Effect for 4 seconds. Smash Hit causes the Exhausted Status Effect for 30/25/20 seconds. Smash Hit cannot be used when Exhausted. "I have dealt with psychopaths in suits. You're just uglier and worse dressed." - Yun-Jin Lee
Our take
Survivor perk. Exhaustion chase perk. Smash Hit gives 4 seconds of 50% Haste on every pallet stun, the longest pallet-chase escape duration in the survivor kit overall.
How to use it Time the pallet stun so you run straight into a window. The 4 second Haste plus a Lithe vault extends the chase for an extra loop.
Best for Chase mains who rely on pallet stuns. Pairs with Lithe and Dead Hard for the meta exhaustion chase stack and Finesse for the window tech.
Best synergies
Perks that pair exceptionally well with Smash Hit:
- Lithe - Lithe triggers a 150% Haste vault while Smash Hit triggers a 50% Haste from pallet stun - they cover different chase moments.
- Dead Hard - Both are exhaustion perks but cover different scenarios - Smash Hit on pallet stun, Dead Hard on chase swing.
- Sprint Burst - Sprint Burst triggers at chase start while Smash Hit triggers mid-chase, layering two chase effects.
- Finesse - Both trigger on the pallet break - Finesse grants vault speed while Smash Hit grants the speed burst.
- Windows of Opportunity - Reveals vault points so you can route the 4 second Haste into a window for max distance.
Counters
Perks and effects that work against Smash Hit:
- Spirit Fury - Breaks pallets without stopping, denying the Smash Hit stun and chase extension.
- Thanatophobia - Stacked regression punishes the Smash Hit chase because the team cannot repair while you extend chases.
- Barbecue & Chili - Reveals survivors after hooks, breaking the Smash Hit loop when the killer leaves to hook.
What wiki.gg doesn't tell you
Smash Hit is the longest-duration pallet exhaustion perk in the game. The 4 second 50% Haste covers roughly 16-20 metres of chase distance, the most of any pallet perk. The trick nobody documents well: Smash Hit's Exhausted cooldown starts on stun, not on use, so if the killer is stunned but the chase ends, you can heal through the cooldown with Botany Know or self-care. At high MMR, Smash Hit is rated A tier because the 4 second window is longer than Lithe's 3 second burst and matches Dead Hard's i-frame for a different scenario. I prefer Smash Hit over Lithe on maps with strong pallets, but it depends on map layout. Pair with Lithe for the meta pallet-to-vault chain.
FAQ
- Does Smash Hit work without a pallet stun?
- No. Smash Hit only triggers when you stun the killer with a dropped pallet. Flashlight saves and other stuns do not count.
- What is the Smash Hit Exhausted cooldown?
- 30 seconds at tier 1, 25 seconds at tier 2, 20 seconds at tier 3. The cooldown is one of the shortest among exhaustion perks.
- Does Smash Hit stack with Dead Hard?
- Yes in different chases. Both are exhaustion perks so they share the Exhausted status, but each can trigger once per chase.
- Is Smash Hit better than Lithe?
- Different scenarios. Smash Hit is longer (4s vs 3s) but requires a pallet. Lithe requires a vault but adds 150% Haste.
- Does Smash Hit work in the basement?
- Yes, if a pallet is present. Smash Hit triggers on the stun regardless of map location.
