Our take
The instant the Killer breaks or damages anything, their Aura is revealed to you for 3/4/5 seconds. It is a narrow read, because it only speaks to those two actions and nothing about their location beyond that window.
How to use it A good slot if you expect lots of Generator damage and want to break contact before it happens. Weak value on a Killer who barely touches anything, since no damage means no trigger.
Best for Dark Sense, Bloodhound and Beast of Prey all read the situation differently, and Alert covers the moment the Killer hits something. You want this on any build that spends its time on Generators and fears the approach.
