You are fuelled by your hate for progress.
Performing the Damage Generator action on a Generator applies Overcharge:
- The next Survivor interacting with that Generator is faced with a difficult Skill Check.
- Failing that Skill Check instantly regresses the Generator by 2/3/4% of its maximum possible Progression in addition to the default Progression penalty.
After Overcharge is applied to a Generator, the following effect also applies:
- Increases the Regression speed from 85% to 130% over the next 30 seconds.

Our take
Arm a Generator and the next Survivor to touch it faces a difficult Skill Check, failing it costing 2/3/4% of the maximum Progression on top of the normal penalty. The trap also pushes Regression speed from 85% to 130% for 30 seconds whether or not anyone takes it.
How to use it Damage a Generator that will be revisited, because only the next Survivor to interact takes the Skill Check. Save it for a Gen that matters rather than one nobody returns to.
Best for Call of Brine, Eruption and Oppression hit the same Generators from other angles, and Surge is the fourth option for a Generator focused build. Take this one when the Skill Check matters more than the extra damage.
