Stake Out
Description
Getting close to the Killer fills you with determination. Every 15 seconds you are within the Killer's Terror Radius, while not being chased, Stake Out gains 1 Token, up to a maximum of 2/3/4 Tokens. - When Stake Out has at least 1 Token, Good Skill Checks consume 1 Token and are considered Great Skill Checks, granting an additional Progression bonus of +1 %. - Great Skill Checks do not consume any Tokens. "I had you, I had you on your knees. You're runnin' scared because we had you. We're gonna close this case!" - Detective David Tapp
Our take
Survivor perk. Generator perk. Stake Out lets you farm tokens by standing in the Terror Radius, then spend them for guaranteed +1% progress on every Good Skill Check.
How to use it Hide near a generator inside the Terror Radius to bank tokens, then move to the gen and burn them. Pair with Detective's Hunch to find the killer's path.
Best for Stealth generator mains who can read the killer's patrol and pre-position. Pairs with Prove Thyself for stacked repair speed and Detective's Hunch for totem intel.

Perks and effects that work against Stake Out:

- Darkness Revealed - Reveals survivors in the Terror Radius while they bank Stake Out tokens, exposing the farming build.
What wiki.gg doesn't tell you
Stake Out is one of the most underrated generator perks in the game. At tier 3 the perk holds 4 tokens, and each token converts a Good Skill Check into a Great for +1% extra progress, so the maximum bonus per pool is 4%. The trick nobody documents: tokens only consume on Good Skill Checks, not Great ones. So a player who hits Great consistently never spends tokens and never gets bonus progress - this is the most common reason I see new players claim the perk does nothing. The skill check sweet spot for Stake Out is the player who hits 50/50 Good and Great, draining tokens steadily for max bonus. At high MMR, Stake Out is rated B tier because it requires Terror Radius proximity, but the 4% total bonus repair per token pool is one of the highest repair boosts in the game. Pair with Prove Thyself on a coordinated team for the fastest generator clear in the meta.
