Description
This description is based on the changes announced for or featured in the upcoming Patch 8.3.2Start the Trial with 1 Token. Whenever the Killer attempts to read your Aura, Distortion activates and consumes -1 Token, applying the following effects for 8/10/12 seconds: - Blocks your Aura from being read. - Suppresses the creation of your Scratch Marks. For every 30 seconds spent in a Chase, Distortion recharges +1 Token, up to a maximum of 2 Tokens. Distortion does not activate when you are in the Dying State.

Distortion was reworked in Patch 8.3.2 to its current 12 second aura block and 30 second chase recharge. The 2 token max plus chase recharge makes it the strongest anti-aura perk in the game. The trick nobody documents: Distortion only triggers on aura reads, not on the killer seeing you directly, so it does not protect against chase vision. I learned this the hard way against a Spirit who could simply walk to me and ignore Distortion entirely. At high MMR, Distortion is rated A tier because aura reads are common on killers like Nurse, Spirit, and Doctor. Pair with Iron Will for the meta stealth stack.
